For this piece I drew inspiration from Catholic stained glass mosaics and gold-plated Byzantine iconography. This is an image and idea I hope to return to in the future, as I am dreadfully interested in the places and ways humanity has found and coded divinity in the mortal. Here, however, I am simply making myself an icon and placing myself, through my limited capability, within the framing of a place of worship. I hope to add and improve upon this piece in the future.
